Getting started

Find your way around SagaFold

Two screens orient every session: Home shows progress on the work you are actively writing, and Stories shows the wider project it belongs to. Everything else in the left rail opens from context on one of those two screens.

Language

Home: today's writing, at a glance

Home is the dashboard for whichever book, short story, article, screenplay, or show is currently active. It shows overall progress toward that work's word target, today's word count against your daily goal, and a short history of recent writing days.

It also estimates a finish date from your recent daily counts, surfaces the chapter you last edited so you can resume in one click, and lists open tasks and any unresolved clue in your story notes that still needs a payoff.

  • Book progress counts only the words in each chapter's selected release version, not every draft you wrote along the way.
  • A brand-new account is guided through a short setup before it sees Home for the first time.

Stories: the project your books share

The Stories screen is the home of a project: the place where a series, its spin-offs, and any connected articles live. It lists every work in the project (books, short stories, articles, movies, or shows) on a shelf, with each work's relation to the others and its current status.

Below the shelf, a thread of key story events shows how the timeline and story notes already connect the works. Selecting an event highlights which works and story notes it touches.

Where the rest of the app opens from

Once a book is active, the rail's Manuscript, Timeline, and Notes links follow that book into its chapters, its project's shared timeline, and its project's shared story notes. Tasks and Settings stay available everywhere, independent of which book you have open.

If you are not sure where a feature lives, the fastest path is usually: open the book on Stories, then use the rail to reach its manuscript, timeline, or story notes.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
